Sometimes, life just calls for a retro feel. I get in retro moods every once in a while. In those cases, I’ve always dug through my inventory and thrown on something from Artilleri. Now, there is a new, fledgling store called Faster Pussycat that is aching to make it’s mark in Second Life. I had a look around the store and found some cute and creative outfits, from retro/rockabilly to avant garde to pseudo sci-fi and everything in between. I recommend checking them out!

I really like the textures that designer, Honey Bender, used — especially on the skirt. The prim skirt textures were just as rich as the texture on the glitch pants. I don’t know if this has happened to anyone else…it might just be my Windlight settings, but I’ve found that for some of my prim skirts, I end up having to adjust the color in ‘edit’ mode. Sometimes the prim attachment is lighter or darker than the glitch pants. However, with this skirt, they were spot on. The outfit comes with the belt, necklace, skirt and sweater. It has a sexy nerd feel to it, which I really dig. You could pair this outfit with, say, the ‘Trinity’ hair from Truth and easily pull off a boho look as well.

To complete my look, I threw on some glasses from Artilleri as well as the new hairstyle from fri.day called ‘Hilary’.

What could be better than a sweet summer, pulled back ponytail ? How about THREE new summer ponytail styles from Amacci?

Lara,  Lena and Liana are here and they are perfect for these dog days of summer.

First I put on Lara and fell in love……these nice, thick ponytails have a side bang on each side of the part. Romantic tendrils escape for that carefree look.

Lena is a long, thick ponytail with lots of loose strands of hair around the face, perfect for a much more casual look.

Liana is another beautiful flowing ponytail with a completely pulled back from the face look.  A bit neater for those times when you want to look more put together, yet still totally chill. There are a few wispy strands of hair at the temples for a really realistic look and feel.

Lena, Lara and Liana are great ponytails…they’re a fun, playful style that perfect in so many instances…..

Carina Larsen, owner and designer of Amacci, has also made hairbase tattoos to be worn above any skin you have.

It’s fun being blonde, but in my next post, I will be back to my red, and Baiastice is one of a very few skins offering a red hair base, and with matching hair attachments of the exact same shade, it stands alone.

Tres Beau has me seeing spots–polka spots, my favourite kind.  Kimmera Madison has just released her “DD’s Polka Spots” in several great colours (red, black, navy and brown); a great look in any season.  The prims on this dress as just fantastically made, with a eye for detail that Kimmera is well known for.  From the frilled sleeves down to the light net tights, this dress is a perfect standard classic for any wardrobe.

Tres Beau keeps it light and fresh with the large size of the outer “spots” and the smaller contrasting ones, all wrapped up into a fabulous look, bows included.  Pair it with some red shoes and accessories, and you are ready for any occasion.

Great minds think alike, they say.  In the case of Alienbear’s Design, Bliss  Couture, and Baiastice, three fantastically great minds think beautifully alone and amazingly together.
