Summers warming up with Snowpaw and Diva

The talented designs of Carrie Snowpaw never cease to awe me. Snowpaw Fashions has long since been a favorite in my wardrobe.  These hot lil summer notes are no different.

First up from the design table we have Bohemian in ivory. This sexy number is great for any hot summer night or just a stroll along the beach.  The light flowing material simply flows in the ocean breezes.  A lovely scalloped bell baby doll top compliments the trendy layered mini. Made from sculpts it curves perfectly. Tiny criss cross straps form a rather exotic design over the breast plate giving that wild appeal. To top this hot number off, its a beautifully done animal print! How can you go wrong there?

Next Luscious Flower in  Bluebird.  Much like the Bohemian design, this summery baby doll dress is made of a light material. Each dress has sculpted skirts that form a lighter than air appearance. A bright crimson bloom stands out boldly on the underlying azure fabric. Spaghetti straps form the top to this great summer design. Truly a work of art, you could wear it for a summer evening out or even a day at the pool perfect for any occasion.

I have paired the dresses with Diva’s Bare Feet in Platinum, giving me that awesome opportunity to dig my toes into the sand. These are truly the best feet in SL.  The designer, bigdaddyfr33k Beres even took the time to personally match them to my skin! Talk about customer service! Unlike many ‘bare feet’ in SL, Divas fit perfectly (and if they don’t, no sweat, bigdaddy will fix you right up!) Make sure you follow the blog for a lot more to come on Diva.  I have some great news in shoes coming hot off the press there *g*

Off to do some much needed shopping, I hope to see you there~

18th Century Delight from Rfyre

Posted in Reviews on June 29th, 2010 by lucyeberhart

Imagine for a moment that you possessed the power to transfigure time and space and transport yourself instantly to any point in history.  Which point would you choose?  Where would your journey begin?  Being a romantic at heart, I would choose a simpler time.  A time when a woman was a lady and men were gentleman… a time when chivalry was not only alive, it was thriving.  The 18th century; when letters were handwritten in delicate calligraphy and professed love in ways that most people couldn’t fathom today, when having tea was a social affair and ladies were refined.  A time when gentlemen gathered together for various sports while their female counterparts also gathered to discuss the latest trends making a splash from France.  When there was no internet, television or radio.  When dancing was more than gyrating against your partner, and children respected all elders.  Downtime meant curling up in front of the fire reading a book like Moll Flanders, or Gulliver’s Travels. Is this a dream? Perhaps. Just close your eyes and visualize yourself there. The sounds of horses hooves and wagon wheels making their way down the cobblestone streets. The hustle and bustle of a thriving shipping industry importing all of the latest trends, such as this gorgeous replica of an 18th century gown from Rfyre. The “Soleil in Rouge” is a Circa Mid 1700′s Brocade and satin court gown  inspired by dangerous liaisons and the erection of the court of Versailles here in second life.   “One of my best loved gowns I ever created.”— Raven Pennyfeather

This gown is bursting with authentic period textures and features. It features a full brocade skirt with satin underskirting. It boasts sculpted brocade and lace poofy sleeves with delicate white lace cuffs. It also features a laced stomacher to cinch in your waist and show off your bust area. The bodice features lace and pearl accents and has such richly detailed texturing.  A true work of art. Stop into Rfyre today to pick up this or many other treasures.

Come take a trip through time in the Opium Time Machine to visit this and many other eras.  Who knows when or where you will go, but the journey is sure to delight! Join us July 1st, there are 2 show times to suit everyone. 1PM SLT and 6PM SLT.  Come on a fantastic journey throughout the evolution of women’s clothing. From the very beginning to far into the future. Come see how far we’ve come.

Spotlight on SL Top Designers

Posted in OFA Models, Opium Fashion Agency, Reviews on June 29th, 2010 by Veronica Krasner

House of RFyre  is a recognizable label in the SL fashion world. Raven Pennyfeather, the creator behind the name, specializes in a wide range of goth and Victorian clothing for men and women, as well as skins and some jewelry pieces and accessories.

The creation I have the pleasure to introduce to you today is not the exception:

This is the Viscountess Black Seas Deluxe, an amazing Gothic/Victorian gown featuring  a pattern of dark teal and black colors and a highly detailed work with rich textures and a mixture of materials, such as silk, velvet, tulle, lace and brocade assembled all together harmonically.

Delicate lace gloves and ruffles cover your hands and wrists and the wide flexi skirt is really a joy to see in movement, I tried to make it justice by capturing the pic below:

As you see this is a truly stunning piece, once you wear it you can be transported some centuries ago and still look  stunning and fashionable!

Having a close up we can see that every detail is highly worked in this master piece, notice the ruffle below the bust line and the collar and matching color brooch… Just perfect!

The perfect gown to feel magical and romantic on that special night under the moon with that one you love! ;)

Be sure to head over House of RFyre today and pick your special design, and to see more about RFyre and many other exciting creations, be sure to attend The Time Machine Show, a challenging Opium Tale production presented by Opium Fashion Agency, featuring designs from all over the centuries, this next Thursday July 1st, at 1 PM and 6 PM SLT.

Step into beauty….with Angel Dessous couture

Posted in Advertisements, News, OFA Models, Opium Fashion Agency, Opium Fashion Agency, Opium Insight, Opium Insight - Fashion Shows, Press Releases, Reviews, Uncategorized on June 29th, 2010 by Michela Benazzi

Step into beauty….with Angel Dessous couture

A beautiful design from SLs lovely creative deisgner, Jezzy McCallen of Angel Dessous couture.  The Madeleine gown in raven is just one design that will be spotlighted. Madeleine is a sensual lace gown that has so many beautiful points it is hard to know where to start.

The sensual flow of the black and lighter grey brocade design of the fabric is one of the best fabric textures I personally have ever seen inworld.  The gowns design is a tradition straight cut, with a scalloped neckline accented with lovely sculpted lilies. The flowers are available in a small or long flowing design. Each blossom is so well detailed, you can see the veins in the petals and even the stamen of the bloom. The larger flow of the flowers, form a semi sleeve curving over the shoulder line.  Satin long gloves are also included, and beautifully accented  with a laced edge.  A form fitting bodice shows the lovely criss crossed lace along the spine in a dainty closure that is textured so wonderfully it appears sculpted (its not though)

Should your evening call for something not quite as formal as the Madeleine gown, the designer has the answer for you. Madeleine comes with a shorter skirt version.  All of the beauty encased in the formal long gown, drawn into a flirty soft mini dress.  The layered lace skirt flows smoothly with movement and is cut in a cascading front to back fall.  This is perfect for either formal or semi formal if you ask me :)   Both designs feature the gloves, flower options, and a feathered hat (seen in all photos.)

I have seen so many hats inworld but this is one that deserves an entire blog of its own.  The plumes that extend out forming a fan, not only freely move with your movements, but the softness and realistic detail that has been achieved in those small aspects are simply phenomenal. Several ribbon pins accent the piece forming an intricate design that would work well with other gowns.  I am simply blown away by the creativity, beautiful and realistic designs of Jezzy McCalle.  I for one will be at Angel Dessous Couture frequently from here on. Her designs are by far simply amazing.
