Reina in Emerald by Mashooka

Posted in Opium Insight, Reviews on March 31st, 2010 by PaisleyLancaster
Mashooka Reina Dress in Emerald is a hot satin, cocktail, halter mini dress with a wide, rust colored leather belt and shoulder straps.
The dress is a wonderful gemstone emerald green with herringbone diamond pattern, deep vee neckline, buttons up the midriff and wide pleated skirt.
Reina is a great date night dress, lunch with the girls or a walk in the park. I love the way the skirt swirls around my legs as I dance.

A double dose of delightful delicacy

Posted in News, Opium Fashion Agency, Opium Insight, Reviews on March 31st, 2010 by Rhonda Pennell

Two outfits from two different designers, both named Delicate? I must confess that I was at first confused when I received these two outfits – the answer, alas, is simple. Silk & Satyr has been bringing fine lingerie and dance wear to SL since 2008, and also creates formal wear under the label of Flounce & Faun.

Thus, I am happy to present not one, but two gorgeous outfits today: the Delicate Silk and the Delicate Gown set:)

The silk set is nothing short of wonderful – not only is it skimpy and sexy, showing practically everything but your naughty bits in a most desireable way, but the rich details lend an air of style and class to it that easily elevate it above all the rest. The top and panties are designed with detailed patterns and enough sheer fabric to make your heart beat faster, while the uniquely arranged skirt prims wave gently and lightly about with every move you make – a thrilling way to show off those long legs!

This set comes complete with two garter options for the sock layer (with or without stockings), matching garter ornaments, arm bands, and a matching jewelry set consisting of a brooch and earrings. The top of the skirt also is adorned with matching gemstones all around the waist, as seen here in the detail shots:)

The Delicate Gown set is the formal version of the silk set shown above, and it does a fantastic job of transforming the silk essence into a gorgeous gown for the fairy princess inside all of us:)

The almost-not-there bikini top has turned into a full bodice made from mostly sheer fabric, with a delicate flower pattern running diagonally across the torso. And the wide full-length skirt is a dream made from delicate layers of white lace adorned with delicate lilac flowers, with extra layers of shiny silk prims decorating the front and back.

Yes, I keep saying delicate, because it is just such a perfect word for these designs:)

A second skirt option is included with the gown set, playfully mixing the sweet look of a silk miniskirt with the full-length lace and allowing a peek at your beautiful legs to stunning effect. The skirt ornament worn on the waist and the large bow ties on the hips complete this gorgeous dress. Whether you opt for the seductive appeal of Delicacy Silk or indulge in the beautiful dream that is the Delicacy Gown, you just cannot go wrong with either outfit:)

Isha by Mashooka for Relay For Life 2010

Posted in Opium Insight, Reviews on March 31st, 2010 by PaisleyLancaster

Isha is an opulent creation from Mashooka, made for Relay For Life 2010, it is one of a kind and completely amazing.

I decided to go to India to try to get photos that were as distinctive as the  Isha gown is. The gold silk is almost irridescent. The top is a t shaped halter, held up by a collar to leave the shoulders beautifully bare. A turquoise blue embroidered silk sash creates an empire waist that drops to a ornate ballroom skirt, with  gold hankerchief edged chiffon at the top. This gown is ornate !

Aradhana Voight has created a truly unique gown to benefit Relay For Life for 2010. Take a trip to Mashooka to see this and all her other amazing creations. And, don’t forget to attend Opium Tales~Arabian Nights, showcasing more rare Mashooka designs, on April 1st @ 12 noon SLT & April 2nd @ 5 pm SLT. This promises to be the most memorable Opium Tale yet.

DONNA FLORA – What’s in a name you say?

Posted in Opium Insight, Reviews on March 31st, 2010 by luralie bailey

Donna Flora …..it’s music to my ears. Like our dearly departed Shakespeare said so well.    “ What’s in a name? That which we call a rose by any other name would smell as sweet”.  Donna Flora has done it again with another lovely and poetic piece named – Suzi. The elegant outfit comes in a breathtaking beige colored bodice in satin, the knee length, bell shaped, skirt part is decorated with delicately placed black and beige satin roses.  The dress fringe is covered with the most perfect feathers that also match the richly feathered hat that accompanies the dress . What outfit like this is complete without a pair sweet little gloves. (400L$)

Every piece Donna Flora creates tells a dramatic and deeply romantic story that only a Hollywood starlet could recover from. The quality in her work is opulent and incomparable to any other. I find myself humming the song ;  “I Enjoy Being a Girl“   (1959 Rodgers and Hammerstein musical Flower Drum Song) every time I visit the store. Try it the next time you are there … trust me, everyone around you will suddenly join in with you ; just like in movies. Right!

Donna ’s items range from almost every decade of fashion and are timeless. The best part about her is the pricing. Oh,  yes my fashion addicts….. that’s right,  you can afford more than one outfit ; dress yourself from head to toe and still be able to pay your landlord.  She has so many wonderful outfits that you can also tell your friends and no one will  ever have any reason to dress alike. Donna Flora speaks to the heart of a women;  and it says,  “come and get me“!

MIAMAI – Oh my goodnessss.

Posted in Reviews on March 30th, 2010 by angexxquandry

Gahh. I’m really excited! I just received pose sets, hair and an outfit all from Miamai’s spring collection!

I’m usually a person that sticks to subtle tones that aren’t to bright and tacky but let me tell you, after I tried this on, it completely changed my perspective on bright and colorful palettes. Monica Outlander has a talent for color coordination because with the immense amount of colors jam-packed into one I have to say this looks pretty damn good!

This ensemble has a slight sex appeal about it with a belted opening in the front of the jacket and skin tight pants to match. Sculpted pieces were used gorgeously in this piece and in the end, very easy to adjust. So all ladies out there, winter is OVER, let’s slip into something a little lighter & revealing and show everyone that wonderful body we all have!
